Greetings fellow SMPOA members,
I am happy to share the latest news and notes with you today.
-The Homeowners Energy policy Act of 2025 required Michigan homeowners associations to develop a policy in accordance with the act to govern the installation of solar energy systems and other energy-saving improvements. The board has approved the new policy which can be found HERE on our website for your review.
-The resort has been sold to a Michigan based partnership as of last month. Join us in welcoming the new owners, we look forward to an exciting future. SMPOA and its membership will work in collaboration with the new ownership toward its future goals. We are told that there are plans to hold an informative public session to share their plans and vision for the resort. We will let you know once that’s scheduled.
-With the ski season now behind us we wanted to thank the staff and employees for another exceptional snow season. Mother nature blessed us with abundant snow that back-dropped fun times we all enjoyed. Thank you!
-The resort has recently shared with us the Schuss pool will continue under the operation of Shanty Creek Resort, thereby eliminating Trinidad’s offer to lease the pool to us. For this summer, pool opening and closing dates will be posted on the resort’s web site. Pool pass information is expected to be available for publication in our annual newsletter with your annual billing. We hope to have this mailing out by April 10th, April 17th at the latest.
